Appendage Enlargements
add Ventral Horn Nuclear Columns
Spinal cord nuclei occur in columns traveling longitudinally in the cord at various segment levels and for various distances. Near the midline is a cell column for the vertebral column that extends the entire cord length. In the thoracic region, an additional group serves the more flexible thoracic and abdominal walls. At the appendages, columns are added, laterally, for proximal to distal innervation of limb muscles. DM- Dorsal Medial -(T1 to T12) supplies trunk muscles. In the cervical region, the central column (C, C4 -C6) produces the phrenic nerve while the pelvic diaphragm nerves comes from 3 central sacral segments.
