Understanding the Mind . . . And Brain
|
|
The purpose of this website is to provide
a conceptual Understanding of the Mind for
general audiences, students and scientists. Our goal is to describe
components of the MIND and MIND sources within the brain and to provide a
conceptualization that bridges basic-science and psychological disciplines.
Evidence shows that the emergence of the MIND is from synchronous activity of cerebral-cortical-pyramidal
cells generating sensory-consciousness and memory together with emotion. These
MIND entities fuel a processing cascade yielding cognition (understanding) and
decision-making for the initiation of behaviors and generation of speech
content.
As an
educational service, our offering is for access to online presentations of how
the nervous system gives rise to the MIND as an unique energy-state yielding
“self”. Individuals or neuroscience students desiring to increase their
understanding of how the Mind emerges from the brain and this relationship to
the entire nervous system can register to access our online website.
Course objectives are available for institutional approval and credit level evaluation. For college credit, testing will be online and by phone interviews.
