These values are determined by pleasure or displeasure principles. What is pleasure to one individual may not be to another.
Emotions continue to develop over time (e.g. puberty) as changes in levels of hormones and neurochemical transmitters as well as their receptors.
Some stimuli change behaviors by repetitive consumption or actions that lead to habits and addictions. These emotions readily control the MIND and the individual easily looses control to conditioned reflexes that emerge as psychological and chemical addictions.
